    Hi guys...
Question: I recently aquired a second hand SKY+ box and resubbed with SKY with what they told me was a second hand subscription...but now the box has started to act up and is stuttering during record and playback...my question is will SKY replace the box with a new one and will they still charge me for install if they do?
    cheers

Only one way to find out...

I'd imagine they'll wish to charge you for callout, and replacing box with recondiitioned unit.

Either that, or change hard drive.

I phoned them and after what seems to be the obligatory 15 min wait I was told I'd have to pay 199 for a replacement box (I don't think so) So I'll hunt around for a replacement..this time one with the SKY anytime facility...cheers

Jimrad just put a new hard drive in. I did it with my orig sky plus box and have had no problems since.

Was gonna do that curryman but the one I have is an older Pace 40 gig V2 box which does not have the Sky anytime facility so may as well go the whole hog..BTW I opened the box and the ribbon cable had worked it's way loose from the HDD so that may have been my initial problem!!
    cheers

How did you do that? What HDD did you install? Easy or not?
