Common sense should prevail here - why even bother posting this?

    100% fake obviously

    Absolute bull..

"As always, please treat this information with absolute care."

As if there's a need to say..

It's a con. His is obviously a feasible name to attach to such a document, but I don't think Sid Ganis even knows the results in advance. Aren't the results checked and compiled by "independent observers" PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and delivered to the Kodak Theatre in briefcases handcuffed to a batch of accountants?

Having said that, I don't think the results will be a million miles away from what's there, and I hope it's prophetic about Peter Gabriel winning. :)

How can you say that with 100% certainty? Again it its a credible list IMO and the logic of it follows the psychology of they distribute the awards. If it is a fake whoever wrote it did their homework.

They did heist the Oscar statues a few years back so it's not beyond the realm of possibility for things to go tits up. However that doco appears to be a very poor fake.

No rovert you wouldn't. The results are only known by a few people in PwC before the night and of course there isn't the list of winners all on one page. They'd be separate and digital copy only. If ever printed they'd be on red paper too so they couldn't be copied and have unique ID etc.

    Absurd post tbh

Because I used to work for PwC and whilst never worked on the oscar ballot I do know exactly how it's done

I was talking about statements of"As always, please treat this information with absolute care" in general. Not in this instance in particular.

I never said that I was certion it was 100% percent legit. Look at the OP I said it could be bull****.

TBH I just think posting this is absurd and so far from plausible you may as well post a flying saucer picture and claim aliens are here

I was merely commenting on things being labeled "Careful Tea Hot" etc. Sorry if I didnt make it clear.

Again didnt I say it could be bull**** in the OP? I never professed to be an expert on the process either. I merely posted it as it has been circulating around the internet and as I said the OP the list of winners looks credible.

Leaked Oscar winners list is complete fraud, says rep
    February 20th, 2009 - 5:35 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend:

Melbourne, Feb 20 (ANI): A leaked document purportedly listing the winners of this weekends Academy Awards is nothing more than a hoax, according to an Oscars spokeswoman.

Papers alleging to be the complete list of Oscar winners have been published on the Internet.

The authentic-looking document, which seems to have been scanned in, has an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences letterhead and what looks like the signature of the Academy’’s president, Sid Ganis.

“This is the final list of winners of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. As always, please treat this information with extreme care,” News.com.au quoted the document, as stating.

According to the list, Kate Winslet has won best actress gong for The Reader and Mickey Rourke has bagged best actor award for The Wrestler.

Heath Ledger has been named best supporting actor for The Dark Knight and Amy Adams has won best supporting actress gong for Doubt.

Slumdog Millionaire has been named the best film while its director Danny Boyle has honoured with best director award.

However, an Academy Awards rep has branded the list a complete fraud and has said that the Oscar votes are still being counted.

“The document is a complete fraud,” Oscars spokesperson Leslie Unger said.

“PricewaterhouseCoopers is still counting the ballots and there are only two people there who will know the complete list of winners in advance of the envelopes being opened during the ceremony.

“The Academy’’s president is not advised of the winners in advance and no such list is created,” Unger added. (ANI)

We can all chill out now
    :p

That list works for me more or less entirely , if only they'd sub out Winslet for Anne Hathaway. Oh well....

Let me try a a few:

Shakespeare in Love winning Best Picture (a vapid massively over-rated movie.. cute but christ, not worthy of an Oscar. Never mind the numerous it recieved - Paltow winning Best Actress me arse!)

Gosford Park winning Best Original Screenplay over Memento! (WHAAAAAA!?!)

Marisa Tomei winning Best Supporting Actress for My Cousin Vinny (some serious drugs being done by the Oscar panel that year clearly)

Peter O Toole and Alfred Hitchcock both nominated several times - never won awards but were given the customary "ah you tried you best" Lifetime Achievement Award in later life.

The Shawshank Redemption. 8 nominations - not one win!

Dances with Wolves winning Best Picture over Goodfellas.

And the one I don't think anyone will EVER forget: Forrest Gump winning Best Picture over Pulp Fiction.

Should I go on? The Academy have made been truly horrific decisions!

Was going to say 2001 A Space Odyssey didn't win best picture but it wasn't even nominated in that category.

Plenty of reading here for anyone who needs reminding (i.e. those blinded by marketing :p) why the Oscars is a heap of shite.

To be fair to them, the last two best pictures have been deserving :P
