    Hi all,

posted here a while ago about a seicento that had been broken into:

need to replace door barrel on drivers side.

any opinions on the options i have.

top of the list is the 800 euro complete repair and new issued key that fiat are offering.

then theres buying a lock set which involves 1 key for each of the external locks and the old key for the ignition.

Quinn insurance told me that to claim ive to pay first 200 and then my premium will go up by 30% ... is this normal or a bit extreme?

anything else i could possibly do? no smart comments such as scrap the car etc please, this is serious and i need it repaired but dont fancy spending 800 euro with fiat.

That's madness. Have you had any other claims recently?

Buy a new car. That car isnt worth €800. Check the bangernomics thread for some bargains. You'll still be spending money, but wont have the insurnance issue.

    Have you tried scrapyards?

Change the drivers door lock, and use 2 keys.
