hi, have a big occasion tomorrow and wearing a top with no sleeves.Problem is my upper arms are not toned and lovely...more like a bit flabby-depending on the light. I am going to put on some fake tan but wondered if there are any other tricks for making arms look slimmer?-at this stage I think it's desperation!I'm starting to feel a bit embarassed about wearing the top although it is lovely and cost a lot....so if any of you know any secrets to slim looking arms..I'd be most happy to hear..thanks!

fake tan/bronzer usually slims arms. For photos,I read somewhere, if you hold them out from your body instead of letting them spread out against your body that helps too

I say put the fake tan on, put the lovely top on and wear it with confidence. Posture has a lot to do with it and if you're cowering worrying about your arms you'll ruin your look.
For photos, stand slighltly side-on and as Sowra said have your arms a little out from your body.
Most of all, enjoy yourself :)

I'll actually help coz I feel bad now

Doesn't salt/red wine dehydrate you and tighten up muscle/fat?

    May be wrong there

Retaining water can make you look heavier than normal. You look slimmer when dehydrated alright, but you're also going to be tired and cranky. Chances are those perfectly toned models you see on the front covers of magazies have taken diuretics or sweated it out in the sauna prior to the shoot. Alcohol is heavy on the calories so that's not a good plan long term. Salt will make you retain more water, so will have the opposite of the desired effect.

Drinking plenty of water will actually help reduce water retention by flushing salt out of your body. Don't overdo it though, losing too much salt is actually dangerous. There was a case last year of a woman dying because she was doing a fad diet that involved drinking excessively amounts of water and very low salt intake.

thanks for all the help ladies...did the tan thing and still felt self conscious...so went with cover-up- a bolero- figured on the day-I'd rather feel confident and not dread dodgy mirror moment when I was there...but I have started lifting big tins of peas!:)
