    Hi folks,

Have my '01 Opel Astra G booked in for it's NCT next week. However, since I bought the car the airbag light has been coming on and off on the dash.

I've figured out that it's a loose connection under the seat, which could cost a few hundred to replace.

My question is - will I fail the NCT as a result? (i.e. if the red light is 'on' when it goes for the test)

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Cul.

    Nope!
Passed mine today with the airbag light staring the tester in the face!

I had the same problem as the OP and it was a loose connection which took all of 2 mins to fix :)

says nothing on the NCT check list about them checking for warning lights so i reckon you'd be fine (but for safetys sake get it bloody fixed). I saw a very bad crash tonight in Santry where everyone got out alive (**** knows how) and all the airbags had deployed which i'd say saved lives.

yes but it would not attract a re-test fee (no equipment used)

    failure item #8
    REASONS FOR FAILURE
    (1) Control insecure.
    (2) Horn insecurely mounted.
    (3) Not working correctly.
    (4) Not working or not fitted.
