In this case a soliciter is not an option. Three different soclisiters have badly damaged this case (family law) over the past eight years. The person tried to represent herself on one occasion which didn't go very well and does not have the confidence to try again. Instead she would like to nomanate someone to speak on her behalf. Is this possable and if so is there any restrictions on who you can nominate.

Any help would be appricated and sorry if this is a this question has been answered somewhere else i searched and couldn't find anything.

    Daniel.

No, it has to be a solicitor or barrister instructed by a solicitor.

The only other option is called a MacKensie (sp) Friend. This is a person that can come into court with the person and provide assistance and support but not speak on her behalf.

I would suggest that as there are nearly 1000 unemployed solicitors that it is a client's market. There are plenty of very good solicitors, shop around. Get someone you like and give very clear instructions, ask them if they can meet your expectations and hold them to it.

Its a shame that your friend had a bad experience but she should get a solicitor. Some of us are good. Without doubt she could be prejudiced without someone that know their way around family law.
