About 11 yeas ago a friend of mine was raving about an album called Music For Robots by an Irish band called The Null Set. Does anybody here know anything about them or indeed is there anybody from The Null Set on boards.ie?? :)

Theres 2 songs in the below link. For 1998 I think it sounds pretty ahead of its time!

Only took me seven years to find this thread, there you go. I was in the Null Set, nice to think we were ahead of our time in someone's eyes 8)

We stopped shortly after, but not before getting a John Peel play where, quite delightfully for me, he didn't play the record at the wrong speed, but did mix up the sides.

I Never heard of this band before but I can see why they might be said to be ahead of their time esp viewed from 2017. ..thinking of modern bands like hoteliers on some tracks with the shouty vocals ,smashing pumpkins ,future of left, slint, and pavement on others..the guitars on the first track aint heard guitars that in sync since gish and siamense dream ..it is a great listen
