    Do you have one?

I was reluctant to read this thread as before I had a Creative Zen which played havoc on me every month, it was more hassle than it's worth so I'd came to conclusion not to have an mp3 again but having looked at your link, this looks a fascinating bit of equipment.

Please elaborate more about it if you have one.

Note that one downside to the Creative is with expanding it's memory. Using the SD card slot doesn't integrate the card's content into the media library. You can only browse the card's folder structure. Having said that, you can always keep your mp3s on the internal 32Gb and bigger files such as videos on the card.

Another issue with it is video playback. As with most of these mp3 players that pretend to be PMPs, video is an afterthought and you will need to re-encode your video's into the "accepted" format.

Cowon's D2 may be take a price cut now that the S9 is out. This or an Archos would have far superior video codec support. I think HMV have a 30Gb Archos for £99 if I remember correctly.

    30GB Archos 604 €191 http://www.dabs.ie/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4LRX&fb=112

Have a Archos 504 myself. Excellent piece of equipment. Plays MP3's, and DivX. Get the cable, TV box, and you can play to/record from the TV.

Only bad thing I'll say about it is that I had to buy "extras" for mine, for two extra codecs. Was well worth it, though, as it plays a lot of the TV shows, etc. Sister has the 605 and is very happy with it.

Just don't get the 504 if you have Vista. Vista kills the 504 (something to do with the hard drive format).

If you are interested in a creative, the official creative ebay shop has some great deal on their products, as long as you dont mind a broken box or damaged packaging. Check them out

nice one for all that lads, have alot to think about now. hadnt heard of cowan mp3 players to be honest, but glancing at them, i'd be looking for a memory of 30gb minimum. the archos would be great for watching films and tv shows on the move though, tis a tough one!
