Best Aerial for Portlaoise

Ok... My head is slowly stopping spinning having tried in vane to educate myself here....

Can anyone recommend an aerial to receive the most I can receive by way of TV channels given I live in Portlaoise. The rabbit ears won't cut it.... not at all..... not even a seemingly good set with a hoop and god knows what else by way of greatness will they work.

With this in mind I'm presuming an attic install probably won't work either.... though I would love to be proven wrong. Sounds handy!!

I'm well impressed with tvtrade.ie pricing found on a previous post. But my questions are: -

    1. Which aerial should I aspire to own to suit my needs.
    2. Any website recommendations for purchase of recommended aerial at good price?
    3. Can I rehash the redundant chorus wired system in place in the house to get stations in all rooms in the house in a quick disconnect / reconnect step?

I currently have sky (in the living room only) ... thinking of cancelling... but would rather not be left without the old RTE's.

Depends on what part of the town but generally best signal from Mount Leinster so you need VHF band 3 aerial for RTE 1 & 2 and a group A or wideband UHF for TV3 & TG4.
May work in attic depending on location.
    PM if you need help.
