Best USB DTT Stick that'll work with Irish DTT [MPEG4]...

..I've seen folks on here mention the AverMedia USB stick so went looking for that but it seems there's a few different versions of it.

So what USB receiver to buy? Which is best and [ideally] supports MPEG4 out of the box?

    Thanks!

AFAIK, they'll all work here, as it's the software that does the decoding. There are probably only a handful of chipsets, but lots of different "brands", but as long as the drivers are BDA compatible, then anything really should be grand. Cheap ones for a tenner on eBay should be fine with the right software.

You may need to fork out extra for a H.264 decoder though - I did, and don't regret it. I use CoreAVC and Alt-DVB with a WandTV USB device from dealextreme and it works brilliantly.

As for the PC running it, nothing less than a P4, 2GHz, 1GB with USB2.0 would be recommended.

I have an old (1 year) Avermedia stick, the volar+FM.

It displays DTT TV fine but it does not play back it's recordings so well. Likely this is a codec issue.

If I was buying now, I guess I would get something cheaper.
