This is a long term chart of the Gold/Dow ratio. There are any number of analysts saying the ratio will bottom in the years ahead anywhere from 5 to 1:1 . In particular over the next decade gold stocks should do well as the input costs for miners will drop as the real cost of gold goes up. How many industires can you think of that will have rising margins in the years ahead?

Newmont is one of the largest gold mining companies, but could have picked any of them , since the oct/nov low most have doubled. whats the fascination with AIB/BOI:p oh yeah gold shares are risky :D

just to add I'm not saying now is the time to buy but if there is a decent pull back in the markets in April/May , these stocks are worth considering
