Benefit Make-up Lesson

    Hi!

I bought a primer from Benefit the other day and the girl offered me a free make-up lesson for a couple of weeks time which I'm looking forward to :D

I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone to these lessons, and if so, did they try pressuring you into buying makeup afterwards?? I wouldn't mind buying one or two things if I *really* liked them, but I'm nervous that I'll seem stingey afterward if I don't want to!

No you're not obliged to buy anything as it's being given free because you've already made a purchase. They will probably encourage you to buy something but don't unless you want to.

The usual case when you get your makeup done at a counter (without previously buying anything) is that you are committing to buying a product or two upfront, although this is sometimes not made clear when booking.

That's good to know, thanks Das Kitty :D Well I already bought a product so I guess I'm not obliged to buy anything more!

I'm sure they will try to persuade you to buy some more products after though.

They aren't doing this as some kind of educational project. I don't know if they girl will be pushy or not, but they are doing it to generate extra sales, whether it be straight after the lesson or some time in the future. They probably want to increase brand loyalty. Nothing comes for free!

Well this is exactly what I'm thinking! I guess the best thing to do is to put my foot down if they try to sell me something I'm not interested in :P

you dont have to purchase anything....BUT! my sister went to this and the girl showed her how to use the products etc to get the best result. My sister hadn't been planning on buying anything but ended up spending €120! just be warned....you'll want to buy the products!
try not to buy there and then...write down the products and check online.
    enjoy!

The are quite pushy in Benefit when they give you the free makeover...I only ever get one when there's already something I want to buy otherwise I know I'll come out with a load of things I can't afford! :D
