Im in the process of finalising the purchase of a new home. Since the start of this process i have been let go from work. . I have filled out the JA that I am not co habitating at present, which I am not. Means test date not given yet. However I have purchased this property with my GF(contracts not signed yet) and should be moving in over next couple of months. Just enquiring how this will effect my claim for Job seekers assistance? I would be of the opinion that the re payments of the mortgage will help with acquirng JA. Or will it in fact be a disadvantage as my GF salary will now be taken into account, this being in the region of 60,000. I am FTB, GF not. Options also of rent a room. Dublin area. Obviously very eager to regain employment as soon as possible.

If your Girlfriend earns €60,000 per annum then that is going to have major consequences on your application if it is taken into account. You might not get any assistance at all.
