    - Half marathon
    - Marathon

What do you think about when running?

I would have to say the Papaya salad with Chicken. Its very simple but its the one i'd eat . It is also prob the most healthy. After that I'd go for the Seabass with mango salad.

Well got sick of living on past glory and the fact my borther beat me got me going again, Now I just love my training and want to get that sub 30 mile 5 mile. I prob did it in training when i was running 1500's and 800's on track but never did it in a race.

Malahide castle would be my fav just because I had so many good session there ovre the years.
    Favorite restaurant
Its a small place on the Thai Laos boarder love the food there, but in Dublin i'd say my place ;) . Tend to cook more then eat out but I also like Yo thai.

Having to take rest days now, or been beaten by people I think I should be beating. Has distroyed a few races when i've tried to compete too much.

User name i've been thinking about that but i'm not so sure, would prob have to be either XC related or to do with a 5 mile target.. Sub30 of mudgod (stolen from sungod).

Nope not really, there is far too much of a mix there, I love verg and sea food so its good for me, Couldnt eat a restraunt menu ever day far too limited but there is so much more to be eaten.

Left this one for last, there are a few people i'd like to beat, At the momnet haven't taken a boards scap and was kicking myslef to be passed in the last 500m of a 5 k.
I'm going to say Woddle would be the aim, he's getting clsoe to the standard i'd like to be at, and going to improve more. So fingers cross i'll out kick him in the last 400 or Raheny.
Also want to race him over 800 or 1500 this summer.

But there are many other to beat before then ;)

Outside running I do some scuba diving well a good bit actually apart form this year.

Last event i'd do would be the marathon ;) . But another even would prob Judo was an ok junior picked up a few medals at an ok level maybe the one. Like the look of the Tri also in the olympics.

I've a singlet that I had in '99 that i really liked, out grew it but it's still there waiting to be put on again..Gadgets i've only jsut got a garmin so can live without it at the moment but find it handy at the moment .

    - Favourite / least favourite type of training session
    - Music / no music when training
    - Do you use visualisation in training? If so, what is the vision (if you want to share)

    Good question there.

Favourite session, have to say sets of 800m's or 1k they really hurts but like the feeling of running faster and the buzz once the set is done.

Least Fav - Gym or Weights , really don't like this part but have managed to do 2 session a week and have to up this to 3.

    - No music , when i started back i had for a while but found i was taking it too easy, like to hear my breathing and footfalls during a run helps me a lot.

    - Do you use visualisation in training? Yes all the time, more so on Tempo or log runs, This are usuallt 2 different one is a re-run of a race from the mid '90 that I'd love to run again(with the same level of fittness).
Second one is usually on long runs is a race that i'm clear and have people coming after me, helps me pick up the pace and get through the run.

Why did you give running up ?
Who was your biggest scalp ?

Well was competing in the nationals in judo and picked up a medal, 2 days later i was training and tore knee ligaments , had me out for months, Then moved away from dublin and missed club session, was training with a good group at the time a few went ot the states to run,
Once I got out of the habbit ended up drinking too much living the bad life for too long. Took up football but the training isnt the same unless your at the top level,

Never really took a big scalp that I knew of. Won a few XC races when i was younger but usually found it hard with the top guys. Beat a few of the top women back in the day and my training partner was a national schools XC winner(beating the girl your stalking ;) ), used to love beating her in races then she gave up ..
Closest i gotto a big male scalp would have been Jerry Kiernan but he must have been pushing 40 at this stage . Plus he beat me by about 2 seconds.

I'd be delighted if you could answer this one -

What are they filming opposite you?

Set in England (based on the police insignia) and probably in the 60s or 70s based on the cars. Not heard anything but they''ve been there for a fair while now...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,598 ✭✭✭shels4ever

Its some BBC TV movie from what i hear based in the 60's not sure what its all about, but the staff live on burgers and hot dog's not sure what that tells you.

Ya, I see them eating in the buses like on Extras. You think they'd just pop into the Sunnybank, your place or up to the new Italian deli...Maybe you should offer them a special deal - delivery to the buses included:P.
