i dont profess to know much about racing, but i enjoy a bet now and then.
i had him on the nose and in a double with neptune collonges.
i dont like this "looking around " when you think you have plenty of horse under you. he could of fallen either way but still i was not impressed.

i was delighted to see him get a clip off western charmer on the way past because i would have swatted him with my race card myself if i was there!!

Wasnt his fault imo, jockeys check for dangers all the time and its never an issue, it had no bearing on the horse stumbling. It was just one of those things.

The only thing you could really say bout the ride the horse got was maybe if he had kicked on instead of takin a pull he could have jumped it on his own n went on a bit. Super horse all the same. Dont no why he didn run. what price the double did you get?

I had a right cut on Cousin Vinny (as i fancied him for Chelt prior to this) and was pissed off when I saw him come down. As soon as I watched the replay though I realised it was just very unlucky. Nothing patrick could have done. It always looks bad alright when a jockey looks behind for dangers and falls/doesn't win race but if he had stayed up and won easily, we'd be saying great ride.

Ritchie - heard on Sunday from reliable source that Mullins never had any intention of running the two of them against each other on Sunday. He said two weeks earlier that hurricane did not need another run before Cheltenham.

That has to be one of the most idiotic comments that I have seen written on this or any other forum. That could have been a very very nasty incident and not something to joke about.

    Agree 100%.

The OP is talking out of his pocket and to be honest is not the type of poster you would want on this from.

    Ignorant comment.

I think Paddy was just trying to out Carberry Carberry(if that makes sense to yourselves) With all the stiring jobs he gets in bumpers I've never once seen him looking round for dangers on the swing in for home but the fall was in no way his fault. It was just plain unlucky and i think if Vinny turns up in one piece to Cheltenham he'll be very hard to beat but its picking what race he'll go for thats the tricky part.

not all posts are "positive",fair enough my opinion on pw mullins was unethical but im still entitled to it. the cocky little **** got a clip and i was delighted .

There is no need to come on here calling me a clown, whats that going to achieve?

It's clear your talking out of your pocket and taking joy in someone getting hit by a horse is ignorant.

You have got to think that a professional jockey would be more likely to have stayed on rather than an amateur (recall Carberry staying on Dorans Pride at Leopardstown after making a dreadful mistake). You can never be sure but there has to be a chance. Mullins had done nothing wrong before that except he nearly came down at the first too!!

Anyone who wants to see a jockey get knocked down by a horse should head straight for the bull rings in Spain where I'm sure you will see enough suffering to keep you happy. For those that love horse racing, we know and appreciate the risks all involved take for our entertainment and to wish anything bad to happen to them is beyond words......even super.... whatever it was.

Were you complaining all the other times Mullins rode him! Talking out of your pocket obviously and i backed him too by the way and there was nothing wrong with Mullins ride on Cousin Vinny took the hurdle like any other just clipped the top with his front two and unluckily didnt stay up. Completely accidental and hopefully wont be happening at Cheltenham he would have beaten Pandorama easily 6-10 lengths.
For you to say Mullins deserved to beat hit by a horse is an idiotic statement he could of easily been seriously injured and was probably lucky to walk away from it.

handsomecake, infraction given for insulting another poster. That type of language only leads to detract from the overall discussion, and is totally unwarranted in this instance.

Horse probably would have fallen anyway as he jumped a touch too soon and caught the top of the hurdle but the whole checking for dangers when you've still got obstacles to jump does grate me. I've limited riding experience but I know anytime I'm coming to an obstacle all I'm thinking about is getting the stride right and giving the animal the best possible platform to clear it. Granted that opinion isn't worth a ****e to lads such as Patrick who do it on a daily basis but I'm always of the opinion that number 1 concentrate on getting the horse to clear the obtacles, number 2 beat what's in front of you and lastly check if theres anyting coming behind before you really press the button. All my opinion of course. Matt O'Connor did the same on Big Zeb a few weeks ago with the looking around you thing. Didn't help I'd both horses backed I suppose :p

@ OP, expressing happiness at a jockey getting injured is the height of ignorance imo, that's somebodys Father/Brother/Son lying on the deck and can you for one second imagine what thats like for someone? Gob****e.

Will you all get over yourselves ffs. If the man wants to rant about something let him. Righteous indignance aside he's not wishing you were hit by a horse so mind your own business.

Is that not even mildly insulting in return?

    Point(s) made, discussion over.

As a general rule, by all means disagree, but cut out the personal B.S. It does nothing for your respective case(s), and just leads to stupid "He said/She said" type childish arguments. Some of ye are like children tbh.

Thanks to those who actually contributed something to the thread, and to those that were above the "slanging" match and actually reported a post.
