My mate has just been put on a 3 day week. Can he claim a social welfare payment for the other two days?
He'll still be getting around €250 per day (for each of the 3 days). Surely he can't also claim the dole? Is it not means tested? He says it's not. There will be some weeks where he will have to do 5 days(once a month I think), so he won't get anything for that.

As far as I know it works on a 6 day week. He works 3 and claims for the other 3 days. Guy in our place had to do the same. Not sure on the figures though

It's based on a 6 day week, i.e. you can work a Sunday and still get full dole. But as far as I'm aware there's a maximum number of hours that can be worked or money that can be earned on the other days. If he's getting 750 euro for 3 days then 1. I doubt he'd get it and 2. Dont think he deserves it!
