hey guys, just wondering what i realistically would burn off on my rowing machine, i really enjoy my rowing machine, i done an hour on it this morning and it told me i burned off 1600-1700 calories, i done 24km/s on it or miles, im not sure what it measures in. i somehow doubt i'd burn off that much. just wonder what i realistically would burn off? btw im approx 5'10" and 16st.

I'd guesstimate that the max you burn will be half that.

What machine are you using? My experience is that pushing very hard I use 12 calories (230m) a minute, which works out at 720 cals/hr & 14km/hr.

There's no way I could keep that rate up for more than 10 minutes, so the hourly rate would be much lower - at a guess 500 cals/hr.
