Hi, I'm installing an oil catch tank and need 3m of <10psi heat resistant pressure/vacum hose. Does anyone know who stocks this around south-west Dublin area or nearby.

    Thanks

Have you thought of using hydraulic hose?

Good idea, got some in Woodies. It's a lot cheaper than automotive stuff on Ebay. I hope it won't melt.:D

Hydraulic hose won't stand the heat from the engine, it softens and kinks:(. Need to get some heat proof hose.

Ah, what temperatures are you running the oil at?? I've worked with hydraulic hose that was in excess of 80 degrees celcius and it didn't kink. If your oil is above that temperature it won't act as a lubricant, in fact it will start to break down and won't lubricate the car.

I don't think woodies would be supplying the kind of hydraulic hose I'm talking about. Its the kind you see on agricultural machines eg excavators. You'd need to go to an agri factor supply shop. Another place to try would be a garage servicing trucks or industrial machinery - they can usually make up a hydraulic hose to your correct length and put the fittings you require on the end.

A normal car motor factors might do this as well, but I've only seen the agri/industrial garages do it.

I'm catching oil from the pcv which is just about 80c, a little more when I'm sitting in traffic. I got some hose in Murrays racing. It's very strong but not very flexible though. I'll stop into an agri-supply shop.

    Thanks
