Was anyone at this on saturday? I went as a neutral and witnessed the most disgusting display of one sided refereeing ive ever seen. There isnt enough room on this site to go through the amount of antics he pulled. I heard today that he is a louth man with strong ties in the newry area, hence his display id say! Why cant the gaa be fair to fellas that kill themselves training only to be robbed by a very blatent ref.

glorified challenge match to be honest. from this post, im guessing that your a rathangan man and you lost????

in all fairness, who honestly cares about whether a referee made mistakes or not or where he is from, its a tv program and those lads im sure were well looked after and got their moment in the sun...

Im actually a monasterevin man, rathangans biggest rivals. I accept refs can make mistakes but what went on was very very blatent. There was a nice sum of money for the winners, and these guys trained hard in the off season only to be robbed by the ref. It was that blatent.

Thats quite an accusation, pity i wont be able to see for myself as it'll surely be well edited before it comes on telly.
Just out of curiosity, what motivation would the ref have had for being one-sided? i'm not being smart or anything just interested seeing as its an officially funded gaa project.

im from Rathangan and can assure you that the lads got nothing from all the weeks or months training they done for it. I for fact know that Darcy took them out the army camp in the curragh and ran the you know what off them.

One guy on the team actually told me they had to break the ice on a pond as part of some sort of obstical course they had to run. He said after the third time of going threw the pond his body was numb.

Anyways i totally agree that the ref was very very bad indeed. Winning by 1 point in the last minute and the ref gave them a freekick about 10 meters out which they missed - so the ref gave them another free - which they missed again. Then the ref gave a 3rd free which they scored with and then decided to blow up for full time to draw the game!

The ref also managed to send a rathangan player off for striking which no one else saw. Even the player he supposidly struck!

We have been having a conversation about this on the forums on Rathangans website - rathangangaa.com and they are far from happy there either haha
