This time of the year no one in Ireland has a bit of a tan.
Ahhh I remember the days when people would be heading off on the first holiday of the year to the sun right about now.
Ohhh them were the days, pre-recession!!

Tinted moisturiser - you'll look like a guy who wears makeup.
Sunbed - you'll look like a guy with leathery skin and a higher risk of skin cancer.

Neither are 'better' - just have confidence in yourself and the way you are, and perhaps focus on getting fit. That will be a LOT more attractive than a fake tan ....

If your going to spend money on fake tan for then next while why dont you just go to a hot country?

maybe because going to sunbeds or getting tinted moisturizer don't cost as much as flights and accommodation to a hot country?

    duh.

Well if you consider that, in my case a natural tan lasts for a good 3-4 months in good condition. how many times in those months would you have to reapply to have a good condition tan?
Im sure it would cover the cost of a holiday to somewhere on a cheap package holiday!

Being pale is not a crime! I say that as a very pale girl but I'm pale and proud.
OP sunbeds are bad for you and may well cause a melanoma. Also as for them preventing spots, well some people will get more spots than others no matter what they do but you could try a healthy diet with pleanty of fresh fruit and vegetables, exercise in the fresh air and keep your skin clean and drink lots of water, cut down (or even out altogether) on alcohol intake and stop smoking (if you smoke obviously).

3-4 months? Are you having a laugh? Or do you only shower once a week?

    Hi Gotabi,

I've never used sunbeds myself, but some of my friends have, and they find them really addictive not to mention expensive. And everyone knows how bad they are for your skin in the long term, so I definitely wouldn't recommend them.

Tinted moisturiser just looks like foundation, plus you might find it rubbing off on collars etc - very embarrassing!

I would recommend a good quality fake tan. In fact I'd be surprised if they don't make them for men yet? You can get ones specifically for your face, if that's the only area you want to use it. I can't really recommend a good one coz I prefer the pale natural look myself (also I'm very lazy!), but maybe one of those ones that build up naturally would be good? Like that Johnsons holiday skin one?

    Good luck with it!

    Aoibhe

    cheers for the fast replies,

but yeah i am fit atm like, go to the gym like 5 days a week and stuff,

im going on holiday this summer too but would rather have some form of a basic tan going over so im not like a milk bottle over there on day one if you get me ha

but i wouldnt wanna get all red faced after the sunbeds.. does anybody know if it does that or?
atm i have messy medium length blonde hair (surfer type to put it in perspective), would the type of tan u get from sunbeds go with that or would it look ridiculously stupid or?

yeah its quite expensive too, so i dunnop whether i like the idea of paying for skin cancer etc? :/
I also dnt really wanna wear the moisturiser for reasons stated above but i am seeing a lot of guys i know wear it and stuff...some wear proper foundation? maybe its some new trend haha

    cheers for the feedback

Well the problem with sunbeds is that they're simulated sun, but I doubt anyone puts on sunscreen when they do the sunbeds

so your skin has zero protection to UV light at a few inches range :O

Your skins natural protection last for about 12 mins, so you should never do more than 10 mins in one go

    People tan differently

So I dont think you'll get diff results with beds vs the beach

but fake tan will look weird

what abt that spray tan u can get done?

Maybe you should go for Fake tan, Sunbeds are good for drying out spots or for skin conditions such as eczema but not great if use them too much.
