first losing to longfords 2nd string team, then losing to tipperary today. no disrespect to tipp, declan browne was one of the finest forwards ive ever witnessed,(lambert wasnt half bad either) but they are a hurling county, and cavan with such a tradition and an abundance of quality, skilfull players, i cant understand why they are performing so poorly. i thought once keoghan left that things would be on the way up! any breifne men shine a light on this?

Not a Breifne man, but I've heard there may be problems with attitude.

Not a Breifne man, but it's not a brilliant team to start with and I've heard there may be problems with attitude.

It is simple.Cavan have been in decline for the last 3 years. They have one good forward who they rely on too much and the entire defense is never the same. There is no consistency and apparently there is no pride in playing for Cavan.

The players look disinterested and lacklustre in any game I have seen them play and there is a sour taste from Keoghans reign which seems not to have gone away.Tommy Carr and his training regime is probably too different from what the Cavan players were used to.He'll run the crap out of the players whilst probably neglecting the ball skills.

It is ironic that Carr is from Tipperary and yet he could not manage to beat his own county with a squad of players that would have at least one or two household names that would usually be enough to see off what woul be perceived as a weaker team.

Mind you,it could also be the case that Cavan totally underestimated Tipperary who are improving and took them too lightly and got into trouble.
