The most recent one is crazy good. I forgot the name sadly but it has cameos from literally everybody from the big guys esteemed career. It even has some humans in it that arent entirely useless.

Quality film imho, I'll try find out what the name of it was :o

The original really is the only film that is actually decent.

But there are lots of others that are huge amounts of fun.

Destroy All Monsters would be a favourite of mine.

Cine Massacre reviewed every single one of the films... well worth a watch.

+1 Destroy All Monster is my favourite too

Although its well into the series. Not much background into the monsters.

I watched all of these on Channel 4 years ago when they used to show em.

I'm probably going to get quite a bit of flak for this, but I think the original 1954 one (yes the Japanese version before anyone asks) isn't all that great. I mean from a special effects and story standpoint it's nowhere near as good as King Kong (1933).

I'd imagine the original movie is the best? Dunno really, these movies just look like total garbage to me and I so I don't waste the time it takes to watch them generally. I thought the 1954 movie overall was a load of crap but I did like the thread in the original movie about the scientist who sacrafices his own life to kill Godzilla and prevent his distructive invention from entering the hands of the government. Pity the rest of the movie couldn't live up to that idea.
