Is he or isn't he?

With the remake/re-imagining of Friday the 13th after only being released it got me to thinking. In the original movies (number 1 excluded for obvious reasons) Jason Vorhees reanimates by various means throughout the series. Does this make him a zombie? I haven't made up my own mind on this one yet but there are some arguments that could prove he is or isn't a zombie in most of the franchise.

    For
*He has no bother walking around under water without breathing which shows a lack of bodily functions
    *He reanimates
    *He shows no fear
*He's generally slow moving but not a shambler
*He shows signs of decomposition in several films

    Against
*He reanimates several times not only the once
*he has had head trauma more then once
*He uses weapons and accesorises with bags and masks
*Shows an ability to think and out wit his prey

    Any thoughts on this?

No, he's a vengeful spirity type thing. He doesn't infect others, he's out doing his own thing, bit of a loner, likes long walks on the beach....

Most of this list could be several things!

E.g. He has no bother walking round under water - neither did the immortals of "Highlander" fame. (only mentioned cause we're talking movies here...).

Mr. Voorhees is not a zombie. Rather he is a possessed corpse who is posessing himself. Something like The Crow actually.

Whilst it would the film that would come fourth in terms of preference
for me out of the five films Romero made, I would not regard it as an abomination in Z terms, unless of course you are talking about the recent turdfest that used the same name.
