ITV HD broadcasts very little unfortunetly but it can be accessed by turning on UTV or equivalent ITV channel as per your programmed Postcode and pressing the Red interactive button.

ITV HD is an interactive part of ITV.

Go to ITV and press the red button.

ITV hasn't Ofcom approval for a new channel and so is using Interactive which doesn't need an Ofcom approval

Can you explain this? The ITV HD channel is present on a particular transponder with a set of PIDs which can be tuned in by a suitably equipped FTA receiver. Is it because it doesn't have a separate EPG slot on Freesat that it doesn't need approval? Sounds like an Irish solution to an Irish problem.... if we had an HD channel that is:D

No, its so that it can't be shown on Sky. The PID codes is set to something that a Sky receiver cannot handle, iirc. It is kind of a Freesat "exclusive" (but other HD FTA receivers can show it)

Since when did ITV need Ofcom approval to launch services? Its only the BBC that is tied up in knots by this kind of regulation.

I'll assume you're in ROI, getting an ROI subscription.

As such, No, you will not be able to receive ITV HD, BBC HD will be accessible by manual tuning, and then available via Other Channels menu.
