I got a 06 yaris luna a month ago for €4500 with my 06 aygo.

It has 30,000km on the clock and the 1L engine. Its not going to win any F1 races but its a really comfortable little thing and a pleasure to be in.

a 1l terra yaris is 14,800 list price. Metallic paint is nearly 500 quid extra and not worth it for such a small car. White or red are the non-metallic colours. None of the options are worth it on this car except 5 doors.

You should get about €800 discount off the new price from the toyota dealer. You have to ask for this - he won't give it otherwise.

The 1750 discount is a rebate that comes by cheque straight from toyota and is nothing to do with the dealer. So he is not giving you this discount - and you must ask him for an extra discount.

Ask a couple of toyota dealers in person for their best price until you get the price you want. If you are in Dublin, try driving to another county with lower overheads where they may give you a beter price.

You should get your new yaris for 12,250 - a great price for a rock solid reliable and cheap to run car that holds its value.

1.4d Yaris's are great yokes to go, 1.0 are grand ( my mam has one :D ) but the diesel Yaris is a bit of a blast lol, totally different drive thanks to nearly 200nm of torque that kicks in very low.Im telling you try it out before you make any decisions.

I have heard the engine in the current shape 1 litre Yaris is quite loud on account that it is a 3 cylinder instead of the previous 4, don't know how much this would be noticeable. Might be worth looking at the 1.3 but that's quite rare in Ireland.

You should ask yourself do you really need new, they come with a 3 years manufacturers warrenty if you got one a year old you will still have the balance of the warrenty and save a couple of thousand in the process for essentially the same car.

There is also a facelifted model on the way but chances are they probably will not offer the rebate on that.

I think the upgrade to the Luna spec is good value for the extras you get.

It is coming out at approx 12850, 14xxx - 1750 rebate and maybe a small discount for cash? Anyway same from every dealer - though I have not threatened their first born. The only wrinkle is most of the low spec models are bought, so you have to ring around to find a dealer with the bottom spec model.

don't forget to factor in 5 doors, delivery and related charges, and metallic paint. none of which Toyota (or any other manufacturer) include in their advertised starting price.

Put the deposit down - no trade in. The 1995 Opel Astra we have is going to the crusher having failed the NCT (brakes and rust).

have you put down deposit already,? Pity I had an idea, was just checking something out for you.

Yes it's good value compared to the cost of options on other cars. At the same time, a lot of people place zero value on things like coloured door handles, leather gear knob cover, shiny wheels and so on. The extra airbags are the only thing I would value form the luna spec list.

12850 is still a good price for this car. Is there a facelifted model coming out this year? or is this just a clear down of stock before the 1.33 arrives?

Colm, how much is delivery in Ireland for a toyota?

Surely it'll be worth something for parts? There's still a good few of those Astras on the road.

metallic paint is always worth it as inthe years to come it keeps the car looking slightly fresh...

also wasnt their a recall on yaris's to their garages because of seat belt tentioners ?
