    a card splitter by the title of ****** is advertised on a site called ****** has any one any experience or opinions on this item, i will not try and explain it as i will only mess it up, thanks in advance.

    I think the item you're talking about might come under 'card sharing', thus Voboden on these forums.

    AFAIK, it will not work with a sky card

    it is not card sharing, it is wireless card splitting, it is plug and play, supposed to be compatable with mediagaurd 1&2, viacess 1&2, etc, in the one house only. forgive my ingorance but is mediagaurd not the enscription method of sky. my thinkig was to use it to transfer the signal to the kids room.

    That's card sharing.
    Won't work with Sky anyway, they use Videoguard.

    • It's Theft of service.
    • It is card sharing, although only in your own house.
    • It's absolutely illegal in Ireland and many other countries.
    • Sky doesn't use mediaguard anyway
