Claiming back taxes.

Folks, sorry if this is the wrong forum but I guess it's more suited than the work & jobs forum.

Last year I was living abroad and only came back in Sept, and started working in November.

The only times I was paid in the whole year (in Ireland) was...

    1. In January, just a few hundred holiday pay for a job I finished in Dec 07.
    2. Half months pay for November
    3. Full months december pay.

However, I was fully taxed for December's pay cheque. Now am I right in thinking that I should not have paid any taxes? Seeing as I hadn't worked for the practically the whole year?

If I am right, how do I go about claiming these taxes back? And now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind claiming anything owed for 2007 as well.

Sorry if this is an easy question, I'm clueless when it comes to taxes!!

    Thanks for the help! :)
