I resisted this trend for so long but I just have to give in and buy one :p Anyone know where I could get a light grey one(the dead typical one I guess ha!) preferably as cheap as possible(broke student)!? Hope I'm not too late. :(

Heh thanks for puttin in the effort anyway :P I know its a weird name alright but I thought I'd better use the correct name so people would know(or in this case not know/Google) what I'm talking about and half a million different styles wouldn't be suggested! Appreciating the input guys, a friend told me today she got one in Zara not so long ago for about 20e, anyone know if they're still there? I can't make it into Zara til Thursday :(

Yes. I used to work there and a lot of men shop there. Especially for t-shirts and jeans.

Go to your locak wool shop and pick up a copy of the Rowen knits for men...about €18 and full of jumpers and cardigans that men will like. Let hinm choose one then trundle down to your local charity shop, pick out a couple of nice jumpers, unravel them and knit it up for him. Better still, teach him to knit too. It is a fine old MAN's tradition that was userped by the wimmens.

Wifey is currently knitting me two new jumpers, bless her little cotton socks. The fact that she fancies the models in the book has nothing to do with it at all.

Is everyone just ignoring my posts? I want a cardigan for ME and I'm FEMALE.

My mistake. I misinterprated your post.
So, in a bit to hasty bid to regain some form of self respect I'll rearrange my post into something a little more suitable.
    Ahem...
Why not go to your local knitting shop and get one of Kaffe Fassett's knitting design books and choose something for yourself from that? Each book will hold a dozen or more delicious patterns including big chunky mannish designs. Then you can get wool from a local charity shop and knit one yourself for yourself.

    Am I forgiven now?:o:)

I'm doing my leaving, don't really have time do knit stuff, plus I'm useless at it anyway. And wool is itchy...

The OP is talking about a woman's cardigan that LOOKS like she borrowed it from her boyfriend but she actually bought it a ladies shop..Hence the name.

There are also boyfriend jeans. According to an article I read, they are supposed to announce to the world that you had sex the previous night (nothing to wear, so had to put on the guy's jeans...) but they are actually women's brands and sizes. I think they are so unflattering:

    http://www.barneys.com/Ryder%20Boyfriend%20-%20Ol+%20Vintage%20Dark/289078364,default,pd.html

Who would pay so much money for THOSE? ARe women really that dumb??

So the girl was out on the pull in the nip, and just happens to be a man's jean size? :P

    unless he is 80:p

why not just buy a mens cardigan?? surley that would be more authentic;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,150 ✭✭✭LivingDeadGirl

Ah now, I usually get my clothes in Topman, River Island, Burton etc but a bit of respect must be given to Pennys. Love getting those zip hoodys in there for like a tenner! They kick ass!

I know the OP posted to say she got her cardigan, I was looking for one today and Penneys are sold out of them but will probably get more. I found a nice one in Tesco of all places, "Florence and Fred" brand €18.

Women's fashion isnt about looking good

    Clearly!

Its about wearing certain clothes just cos everyone else does!

Why don't you mind your own god damn business? If you have nothing constructive to add to the discussion relative to the OP then just stay away. Why bother coming into the thread making negative comments? Does it make you feel good or something? If it does you're pretty sad imo. People can wear whatever the hell they want. Keep your smartass putdowns to yourself.

And as for the last poster saying 'Its about wearing certain clothes just cos everyone else does!', it isnt for me, actually. I happen to have quite a different style from the norm. I mix 'metal' style with whatever items I like from the high street fashion. For eg. skinny jeans + New Rocks are both staples in my wardrobe and I wear them together all the time. I must look really like everyone else. Don't presume you know something when you don't.

mind my own business? you posted on a public internet forum.

and my post is fairly constructive. those cardigans are, in my opinion, horrible and I hope that in sharing this view point it may stop people from wearing these fugly clothes.

    sorry to offend you.

and yeah, it did make me feel pretty good tbh.

No one asked for an opinion. The OP wanted to know where to purchase one.
