I'm looking at possibly doing Occupational Therapy in Galway & was wondering can anyone on here tell me anything about the course (ie. if it's any good!?) on offer in Galway.

485pts might be a little beyond me (I'm being realistic here) so I also was wondering if anyone knows of any backdoor way into it considering there are only 25 places available every year.

    cheers
    squire

A general science degree seems to be a good basis for everything in that regard.

I did the course in NUIG and found it very very good. I think that it's the best OT course in the country (but then I am biased). Galway's a great place to study too and great craic!
There's always the possibility of going to the UK if you don't get the points?
There is a post-grad intense course that you could do as a "backdoor" in University of Limerick. It's 2-years but very intensive and very competitive to get places. and yeah a general science degree is a good background but they do consider people from all backgrounds- education, psychology, Arts etc. Anything related is good and they take into consideration previous work experience and such.
If you have any other specific questions about the course I'd be happy to reply to you.
