Cost of Childrens fillings

My daughter (8 years) has just been the dentist (2nd time). The first visit was €105 (tiny filling to baby tooth). This visit (2 months later) cost €320 for 4 fillings or coverings (according to my wife who brought her).
Now, I make sure my daughter brushes at least twice a day (mostly 3 times).
She doesn't eat many sweets etc. and has water with her lunch every day.
Q1. Shouldn't the flaws in all her teeth have shown up on her first visit?
Q2. She probably won't have her baby teeth for much longer, so is it necessary to go to this much trouble with them?
Q3. Isn't the cost very excessive? Is there a guideline of costs?
Q4. My biggest concern is her crooked teeth (adult) which I want to get straightened. So she has to go to orthodontist, I don't want her to have a set of Shane McGowan teeth like mine (maybe not that bad!). Will I save money in the North or abroad?

My wife brings her to the dentist (I'm usually working), she says this is all normal. But I can't help thinking that this is another massive rip off...

Sorry if I'm out of touch...

    Thanks

Ok, I phoned the dentist to ask why the cost was high. He said the work included 4 sealants to back adult molars. His equipment is the best that can be got (ozone disinfectant before sealant is applied).
I'm still angry (and told him so, to which he replied "thank you for the feedback")!
She was in with the dentist for less than 20 minutes!

    Any thoughts?

What are you angry about? The price? I think 60-80 euro for a filling is pretty standard and there always seems to be something added on (x-rays etc.). You could try and shop around the other local dentists and maybe save 10%. It is cheaper in the north and cheaper again in Hungary etc. but you'll have to go and get a consultation and estimate obviously.

    You can check there maybe.

At the end of the day it seems Dentists can charge what ever they want because people will/have to pay it.

Thanks, I get the point. Just on a rant....
Turns out there were no fillings, just sealants..

I read the rules after I posted so I think this will be removed and I'll be banned for mentioning "cost" etc.

Think I'll go to Spain next time (daughter is Spanish) where it's definitely cheaper... All the Spanish I know have lovely teeth ;-))
