Around this time of year, couples talk about romantic breaks to Paris or Venice or some other mad foreign place like that. But it got me thinking about Ireland.

I wouldnt consider a meal in Tip Tops in tallaght village followed by a night on the town in CoCo's the height of romance but Im sure there are romantic spots or tales about Ireland? try avoid the posh hotel tales. Any romantic spots or locations that would knock the pants of the streets of Paris?

Oh and before anyone says it, yeah I know me ma's is the most romantic place, but other than that!

I love walking the coast road to be honest, find it uplifting and pretty, especially after a meal in Casa Pasta or Kinara.

    Failing that the Donaghmede Inn:eek:

I'd go for Leenane in Co Galway. It's the most stunningly beautiful place i've ever seen in Ireland..

I would have to say most of County Donegal, most of County Galway, including the city and the Claddagh area, and - after watching Franc's engagement programme lastnight (can't remember the name of it but it's something obvious!) - The Giant's Causeway.

Howth has a very special place in my heart so i'd say either the summit or dear park looking over the whole of dublin.

There is aplace called lovers leap in Enniskerry. Above the Powerscourt Waterfall. i think it is named so due to the deflowering that goes on up there, but someone might correct me.

In Dublin I would plump for the Royal Hospital. A nice spot and shoes your intellect side.

Ideally while in the sleeping bay of a trench, spooning one of the lads for warmth while praying that nobody calls "Stand too!".

There are loads of great spots.

    In sunny weather

    +1 Keel Beach in Achill.

    Inchydoney Beach - Clonakilty.

West Cork coastline drive on a lazy summer day ... Kinsale, Skull, Glandor all fabulous places.

Poulnabrone Dolmen in the Burren (again depends on weather ... especially in the summer with the skylarks singing).
