Muller Light - the best low fat yoghurt out there?

I reckon it is, when you look at the numbers. In comparison with other "low fat" yoghurts, the figures all seem to be down. Even the toffee one, which I have on front of me now, is:

    50kcal (the lowest by far)
    7.7g Carbs
10g sugars - 4.1 of those natural (most others have about 12)
    0.1 Fat
    0.1 Saturates

That's pretty good. Most of the others (Glenisk, Yoplait etc) seem to load up the sugars but Muller seem to be able to keep the sugar level down. Opinions?

    Ingredients:
Yogurt, Water, Fructose, Modified Maize Starch, Flavourings, Gelatine, Caramel Syrup, Salt, Sweeteners: Aspartame, Acesulfame K; Citric Acid.

Lots of nasty looking stuff there
Why not go for Natural Yoghurt?
The Dunnes one is lovely and only 58c per 500g

Try the Tesco Virtually Fat free fromage Fraise. Off the top of my head, it's about 50 cals, 7g protein, 3g carbs and no fat. It's also only 99 cent for 500ml. Add some fruit or other flavouring of your own.

I used to eat it years ago and then stopped.

I had one recently and binned it after eating one spoon. You can literally taste the chemicals in it. It might be "low fat" but God only knows what kind of rubbish is in it.

Have half of a more natural yoghurt or have a full one and run around a bit more.

Seriously, if you stayed off "low fat" food for a while and then ate this you'd know what I meant. It's a chemical swamp with a bit of fruit thrown in.

Are the Vitalinea Plus 0% fat youghurts ok? They are about 55 cals and do not taste artificial like the muller or weightwatchers ones do? And the fruit seems like chunks of fruit chopped up rather than gooey lumps in other ones..

Read the ingredients. If it's more than milk and fruit, avoid. You're much better off with natural yogurt, even if it is not low fat, and some mashed fruit.

Ohh I live off this! Add little bit of spring onion and mash with potatoes, or add some sliced bananas and eat as dessert. :pac:

Glenisk make an excellent natural low fat yogurt.

I dislike the Glenisk natural yogurt taste. I do like the Onken Natural Fat Free and the Yeo Valley Natural Fat Free Yogurt.
Yeo Valley has 58cals per 100g while Onken has 48.
Onken has 6.4g of sugar per 100g while Yeo Valley has 8.4. Yeo Valley has only natural sugars from the milk.

Yes the crap would worry me more than the fat. Fat unfairly has a bad name, if it is virtually zero fat you have to wonder how much processing was needed to get it to that state, what chemicals are used, and what chemicals are added to make it still taste like a regular yogurt.

Aren't the Muller yougurts about twice the size of others? Those figures per 100g may look good, but you're eating twice that.

If you want a sweet yogurt - the weightwatchers ones are low, and in small pots. Vitalinea 0% are low also.

Personally, I don't look at fat content, I look at sugar.
