This is taken for the Superstars of darts newsletter:
Simon Whitlock - Yes. Probably around September. Simon has posted on his website that he will move to the UK later in the year and his wife has
confirmed on Superstars of Darts that they will probably move to the UK
in September and that Simon recognises that future earnings are with the PDC.

So it looks like another big hitter will be leaving the BDO.

Good news. I like Whitlock, I think he is a cracking player and will do well in the PDC. September is very late in the year to be switching over though, doesn't make an awful lot of sense. He won't qualify for the Grand Prix or the Worlds because he won't have enough time. Maybe he is moving to the UK in September but not making the switch until the start of next year?

The PDC site says he already has his grand slam spot.
I'd agree, it is an unusual time to switch but didn't Robert Thornton do something similar and switch "mid-season"?

Edit: misread sorry thought you said grand slam

Well yeah he does have his Grand Slam Spot for definite but he had already qualified for that. You're right about Thornton too, Stompe did the same thing, but they both moved over in the middle of the year and managed to qualify for some of the TV tournaments. Whitlock won't have any chance if he moves in September.
