Got me a hankering for one of these

Doesnt necessarily have to be epiphone though, if there is another brand out there that does better copies thats all good.

Have budget up to around 400 lids?

    Any suggestions online or otherwise???

+1 on that, Always preferred sheratons to epi dots.

I always thought that dots felt and sounded really sterile, and *stiff*, kinda hard to explain.

If you were the patient type you could scour around for a used Fender TC90. I love semi's with P90's, something about the semi warmth and the P90's snarl that tickes all my boxes.

I'd have to say negative 1 on the Sheraton suggesion . I've seen some of the China made ones and they look awful. They were in Natural so perhaps they've just been skimping on the aesthetic but I wouldn't buy before trying.

I've always been tempted by this :

Yamaha Troy van Leeuwen sig. Pricey at 700 blips though and not sure if you'd want a Bigsby.

    Details:
    • Model SA503 TVL
    • Construction Set Neck
    • Scale Length 24 3/4" = 628mm
    • Fingerboard Rosewood
    • Radius 14" = 355mm
    • Frets 22
    • Body Maple
    • Neck Maple
    • Bridge Chrome Bigsby Tremolo
    • Pickups Bar Single Coils X 3
    • Pickup Switch Dual 3-Way Selector Switches (All Access System)
    • Controls Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Master Tone
    • Colors Black, Translucent Blood Red

For what it's worth though, I got a Sheraton II Natural from adverts last year with a Bigsby. I put GFS pickups into it - Retrotron Liverpool in Bridge/Dream 90 in Neck. Sounds great and plays great. It was made in Korea around 2005 I think

    Ha ha.

In fairness I would have to approach an ATM with a hammer and a hoover as opposed to my impotent card.

    How bright are P90's btw???

Was looking at a Casino on thomann, what would it sound like, any recomendations or previous experience???

I'd love to see what one of these is like. Anyone ever played one? Price seems good.

The Casino is a totally different beast to the Dot and the Sheraton. It has fully hollow body, unlike the the Dot and the Sheraton, which are semi-hollow. It also has a trapeze tailpiece. Fully hollow bodied guitars are much more inclined to feed back than semi-hollows but the sound is quite different. I'm a fan.

Here's a video of a Casino with a bigsby on youtube. You can find more youself.

The only Epiphones that have every really appealed to me are their own original models like the Casino and the Sheraton. The Elitist line in particular.

Made in Korea though. Not the usual Bacchus quality that people talk about.
If you are spending about €500 on a new Korean guitar, you would be better off saving the extra few hundred and buying a Japanese Edwards or Bacchus.

Or spend €500 on a second hand Edwards.

If you're looking into the Epiphones they've a few archtops . You'd just wanna make sure you try before you buy (which wasn't always possibly in IReland due to the price but hopefully Xmusic can help ya :)) just have to be careful with these Chinese Epi's

Looks like standard south east Asian fare to me. There are better options available I think. Something Japanese is really worth saving for.

And by south east Asian I mean not Japanese!
