Simple Vat Registration question

I applied to be registered for VAT yesterday so it will probably take a week or so to go through but I want to open accounts with some online suppliers. My question is will my VAT number be the same as my PPS number or should I wait till I receive confirmation?

If your a sole trader it should be the same as your PPS except with an IE infront of it for Ireland. If you ring your locak tax office and explain your in a hurry they should be able to confirm your number today.
