My daughter who lives in Dublin has a 1998 Toyota Corolla.Whe she tried to start it yesterday evening there was no power coming to starter and all dash lights were off. After a few attempts and a phone call to me in Mayo it started. The radio had to be re programmed after which means it could either be a loose connection on battery or could it be ignition problems? This happened once last year also but here has been no problems since.

    Any ideas?

I've a 97 corolla and had the exact same problem last week

For me it was the positive battery connector. The battery has not been changed in a long long time so there was a build up of crud on the terminal.

Took off the connector cleaned it with a screwdriver (be careful that stuff is nasty) reconnected and it went first turn of the key
