What do you use on your hair? Maybe you should try a moisture rich shampoo and conditioner? Or if it's particularly dry around the ends maybe a trip to the hairdresser could help?

After you wash your hair next, either whisk up a raw egg and massage that into your hair and rinse or get a can of guinness, let it go flat and put that on it for a few mins then rinse out.

I've never used the guinness myself but its supposed to work really well.

Dry all over really. I went for a cut recently so no split ends but rather dry all over and brittle. My hair breaks easily when I brush it too :(

Is your diet good? I noticed when I improved my diet my hair got so much softer.

I find that Tigi's Dumb Blonde works really well, I use the deep conditioner just once a week (I hear you shouldnt use shampoo and conditioner cause the two of them together are too much for your hair and makes it straw-y) but I find that works really well for dry hair. And smells incredible.

Oh and even though its called dumb blonde and technically for blondes, Ive friends with dark hair and works great for them too, incase you are brunette.

You mean after shampooing your hair you shouldn't use conditioner every time? I have to use conditioner everytime after shampooing or my hair would be really dry. Never heard that before.

first off you should have a trim!

when you shampoo try leavind a good conditioner on your hair over nite and rinse in the morn try this a few times a week should sort it out:):)

Also if you r using colour try to use semi pernaments are these do not dry out your hair as much also great for shine:):)

You can take vitamins for your hair and nails, and yes they really do work! You can get them in all chemists or health food stores.

Also, I used to wash my hair before going to bed, and put conditioner in it, leave it wrapped in a towel for the night, and rinse it out the next morning. If you leave your hair wrapped in a towel for the night, you don't really notice that it's wet. It's also cheaper than buying any specialised products.

If you can its worth getting a conditioning treatment once a year or so from yhe hairdressers, mine does it with a scalp massage and its heaven

I would also recommend this. Just do it with your normal conditioner once a week, you don't even have to buy a mask. Stick a shower cap over your hair, it'll keep heat & moisture in.

However, the single most effective thing anyone can do for dry hair is let it get greasy as much as you can. Most people over-wash their hair. If you're not doing something in particular or are staying in all weekend, just don't wash your hair. Buy a natural bristle brush (Mason Pearson are good), brush your hair so that the oils from your scalp are distributed down the length, then tie it back and forget about it for as long as possible.

Doing this on a regular basis really is better than any treatment you could buy.

Kerastase Bain Satin and the conditioner to go with it are brilliant for highlighted hair. Think they're about €25 each, which is scary, but they last me for about 3-4 months and I wash my (very highlighted) hair every day. You can get them in peter mark and some other hairdressers too.

    Ive very fine, dry, curly highlighted hair with greasy roots (what a combo!) and need all the help I can get. Have tried everything over the last few years and recommend the following;

Redken anti snap - leave in treatment to strenthen your hair. Really has stopped my hair snapping and breaking.

Kerastase Bain Force (green bottle) shampoo and conditioner. Moisturises and strengthens my hair without getting greasy.

Some my friends swear by Aussie 3 minute miracle, so if the above are a bit pricey this could be worth a go. Think you can still buy a sachet of it so you dont have to commit to a full bottle.

I tried Aussie 3 minute miracle and tbh I didn't notice much difference, don't think I'll be getting it again. The home remedies are tried and tested so I'd try those out before shelling out for expensive lotions and potions, just my 2c :)
