More well known?

We have a PA system in my school canteen that students are free to play with at lunchtime. Anyway, most of the people in my school like their RnB, Rap, and Dance, whatever's in the charts and hip with the kids :pac: Usually whoever's throwing on a song will try and pick something that everyone'll like, even if it's not to their own tastes.

Aaaaaaanyway, sez my mate: "I feel like throwing on some indie or something"
Sez I : "Throw on Banquet there, tis fairly well known"
Sez he: "Nah, Munich, Editors are way more well known than Bloc Party"
Sez I and other friend, together: "That sir, is a load of bollocks."

He's adamant that Editors (EDITORS!) are far more popular, successful and therefore well-known than Bloc Party (BLOC PARTY!)

Personal tastes aside (for the record, I like both), please vote for which one you think is the more famous/well-known. Must prove him wrong.

I too would think Bloc Party are more well known.

But more importantly... You get to play with the schools PA??!!! That would have never happened in my school. But in fairness, we would have totally abused it! Scumbag schools ftw

I think Bloc Party are pretty well known in the States too.

If you go by record sales, you'd have to say Bloc Party (based on sales of the two bands 2nd records), plus they've had more success in the states.

I've listened to the Editors, never listened to Bloc Party (I've heard them, never listened). From this experience I'd say they're similar.

Both mediocre ****e though.

Bloc Party are better known, but they are also ****e and have a very irritating frontman.

I'd play Editors because even if they're not as well known at least they have some decent songs. ("Munich" is one of their weaker ones though imo.)

Bloc Party are bigger here in Ireland but everywhere else especially the UK Editors are bigger.
