It's here, The time of year when Adam Schefter comes out from whatever rock he hides under during the regular season, dusts off his blackberry, and takes up his daily update post on NFL TA!,

Decent options this year , especially up front!

QB's = Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia, Kerry Collins
RB's = Derrick Ward, Darren Sproles, Correll Buckhalter
WR's = TJ Housh, Devery Henderson, Amani Toomer
OL = Mark Tauscher, Matt Birk, Jordan Gross(ProBowl), Jon Runyan
DL = ALBERT HAYNESWORTH, Julius Peppers, Bertrand Berry, Kevin Carter
LB = Ray Lewis, Terrel Suggs, Bart Scott, Karlos Dansby, Jonathon Vilma
DB = Nnamdi Asomugha, Mike Brown, Lawyer Milloy, Darren Sharper

Definitely some difference makers there, I'm dreaming of my Colts with Haynesworth anchoring the D :D
Wouldnt mind Asomugha on the back end either

Asomugha will probably be franchised again. Titans will get a deal done with Big Al I think. runyan will almost certainly retire.

The Jets should be looking to Jeff Garcia to replace Favre. He's able to do it when he has protection, options and confidence.

TBH, even as a Pats fan i wouldn't think thats the best strategy for the Jets, constantly replacing an old guy with another old guy at the most important position. Apparently they rate Ratliff very highly but enough to stop them from picking a QB in the draft or going after Matt Cassel i dont know.

If I were the Jets I'd go for Garcia on a one-year deal. He's good enough for the time being before the 2010 Draft which has far stronger draftees at QB.

i'd love for tj whosyourmama to sign with the ravens. dunno if they'd splash the cash tho with having to tie up 2 out of suggs, scott & r.lewis52. but there has been talk of home-town discounts so who knows

they dont have a hope of getting Cassell...New England are not gonna want to deal with the Jets or help them in any way by giving them a good QB....id say the Jets will go for Jeff Garcia or Byron Leftwich in free agency and they apparently also like the potential being shown by Kellen Clemens so i can see them grooming him for the future and probably going for Garcia for the present

Raiders re-sign both Nnamdi and Lechler. Nnamdi got 3 years 45 million dolalr contract. 26 million guaranteed and Lechler got a 4yr $16m($9m guranteed) contract to make him the highest paid punter in nfl history, both are worth every cent of the deals. Delighted :D

Yeah because the Raiders dont really need much money for improvements elsewhere, AS LONG AS THEY TIE DOWN THE PUNTER theyl be definite playoff pushers!, maybe break another wage record for some more average players (Tommy Kelly), another succesful off season is on the cards ,

    What a sad franchise

When you punt as often as the raiders do paying big money for the best in the business(ever?) makes a lot of sense actually.

As weird as it is to say this yes what chucky is saying makes alot of sense. As an organisation they have signed some ridiculous contracts in the past i.e Kelly but it wasnt long before time that a Punter would be offered a large contract. Lets not forget having excellent kickers and punters do make a difference in a game so why dont they deserve the big contracts if they are the best in the business.

Just saying that a francise in such a state that Oakland is in has far greater needs than the punter, even ostensibly, not taking the actual players into account, A team like the Raiders shouldn't be placing big money in Special Teams. Would the money not be better off being spent on the offence thus reducing the need for Lechler?, its just not my philosophy on the game, i suppose, each to their own

I don't think lack of money is an issues with Oakland. They have the money to spend on players, they just spend it on rubbishy players (lechler and Asomugha aside)
