Hey, hope this is in the correct forum.

Basically, my Granny wants to put the deeds of her house into my Dads name. The house was under the names of both my grandparents, my Grandad died last year so is it under her name now or still both? We're just wondering whats the process to put it under my dads name? Is there an ydifficulties?

    Thanks.

This isn't a case of just filling out a form or changing a name and bob's your uncle. For a start there are potential tax considerations, particularly stamp duty but also possibly CGT and CAT. Also in order to complete the transfer of the property, unless, you are an experienced conveyancer it would be next to impossible as a layman to conduct the transaction correctly. The people concerned need to talk to a solicitor who can better advise on the best way to proceed.

Talk to solicitor for financial/legal advice.

Capital Acquisitions/Gains tax may be payable so it may not be as simple a transaction as you think.
