Malware blocks access to security programs and websites

    Hi,
My daughter's laptop got hit by malware or a virus. I used AVG, the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and Adaware to remove as many viruses as they could find.

However, the computer will not now let me access websites offering security programs nor will it install Registry Mechanic.

Is there a way out of this?

    All help welcome.
    Padraig:confused:

Since you've obviously not managed to remove all the bad stuff, boot into safe mode and see if you can run the various security programs from there.

If that doesn't help, read the sticky over in the Virus & Malware removal forum, and if you can't download the programs recommended there, see if you can download them on another computer and then move the installers to your machine via a usb key or whatever.
