Hi! I'm half-way through my post-grad in primary teaching at the University of the West of Scotland( formerly Paisley uni) and I'm wondering if anybody else did this course and had they any trouble registering with Teaching council in Ireland?

I intend to come home in June, not doing probationary year in Scotland, want to do it in Ireland.

    Thanks!!!

I would suggest that you register as early as possible. I trained in NI and moved to Scotland and it took almost 6months to get recognised and accepted by the teaching council. I know there are very few issues registering in NI if you are moving from Scotland...another place you can check is TES community forum http://www.tes.co.uk/ as this has been discussed there..hope this helps:)

I thought Scotland guaranteed their graduates a year's work so they could get the NQT year out of the way. I'd be very slow to knock something like that back in the current jobs climate...
