You're the chap in Glenealy with the trees aren't you?

Before you go spending money on amps etc...

Where did you install your dish? High up on your house like we suggested? If so, why have you got 100m of cable?
Are you sure it is actually receiving a signal from the satellite in the first place?

    yep

this Satellite is joint between me and my neigbours, he agree let and i have make sure it safe and due to healty and saftey

he is more closer about 40 meter and his sky is working, mine more 90ish meter

yep that why i decided to post boards before i buy cos my wife is already kill me for spend over 200, etc and not working... just be careful than read one message and drive up etc

It sounds like you're sharing the one of the outputs from a quad LNBF? What sort of cable are you using? What type of receiver are you using?

The Maplin link goes to absolutely the WRONG type of amplifier!
If you buy one, make sure it's an equalised slope type.

First we are using LNB Octo for Sky Mini dish.

and cable i am using Triax TX 100 CAI Approved satellite cable 100 m roll

    and recvier is Freesat

ok will keep eye on equalised slope type

    saw on Satellite shop

Global TVROWB1F 8-18dB equalised-slope line amp FM/TV/SAT 40- 2150MHz 20112. A satellite or UHF line amplifier to compensate for the loss on long LNB or UHF cable runs. Powered by the LNB supply or 12v masthead supply from the receiver, or via a DC inserter.

    £25.95
    Qty

    is that correct

It wants to go about 25m to 50m from house or according to instructions. NOT at either end anyway.

A sloped inline amp may help. If your neigbours dish is correctly aligned with a clear LOS I am surprised you are getting no signal at all on 100m Tx100.
For electrical safety reasons you should not be sharing a dish with your neigbour.

i know it safety reason and eletronic reason not to sharing neigbours!! we are taking own risk..

thank for advice on equalised slope LNB.. know any irish shop have it.. cos most internet shop based in UK

I think the postal service is pretty quick whether it comes from the UK or Eire.

Thats a big risk, your household insurance will not cover any problems that arise from this.

It would have been better to go with CT125 grade coax, but no point changing that now.

If you are using a proper Freesat receiver (and not a standard FTA one) then there is an issue where the receiver, on boot up, looks to download EPG data from the Freesat TP on Eurobird. This TP would be one of the weaker ones at 28E, so might come a cropper with 100m of cable and prevent the Freesat receiver from displaying any channels.

Ultimately, if the inline amp doesn't work, you might be well advised to replace the minidish with a proper dish of 80cm or more. This would be even more important considering that you are using an Octo LNBF.

It would be interesting, if you are using a Freesat box, to try hooking up a FTA receiver instead to see what happens.
