Hmmmm double the price of the €12.50 Dine for Two. Jury is out on this one, unless of course
that rack of lamb is huge:D

Don't suppose its possible to swap the single red rose for another starter ?!

We've decided not to go down the "squeezed into a restaurant full of couples at tables one foot apart from each other all paying double the usual price" Valentine's malarkey this year but to buy in nice food instead so was hoping M&S would come up trumps but not too impressed with this either given the usual fab Dine in for 2 offers. So basically it's a starter and a rose :p for an extra €12.50  But, having said that, they do seem to be posher than usual options so will have a look at the portion sizes and then decide!

Not the best M&S offer methinks, I'd rather their usual 'dine for two for €12.50'.

Nice one. Always wanted to visit the Kalahari. :pac:

even if you exclude the rose, you'll be getting €40-€45 worth of food and drink

Plenty of stock in M&S Blanchardstown earlier today.

Picked up some lovely looking steaks as my main and chocolate souffles for desert...as well as the starter, side, bottle of wine and rose...saved €20.25 on the lot according to the receipt.

This is much better than the usual offer. The meat for the main courses is high quality and the wine is twice as good as normal, for example the bluff hill is usually €14.99 and is really good.

This is going to save me having to go to a restaurant and and not have to look at other couples eyeballing each other.

I can highly reccomend the "Rump steak and peppercorn sauce".

One of the nicest steaks I ever had!

this is nearly selling faster than the normal €12.50 one, I'd strongly recommend anyone to get in early tomorrow to avoid disappointment

It was like feeding time at the zoo in Galway at lunchtime :D

Yeah, there wasn't a huge amount left in Blackrock tonight at 8.45, certainly nothing like the amount of choice on the menu list posted earlier.

Looking forward to the rump steaks tomorrow...they look amazing, they're even calling to me from the fridge right now:o

Was in Dun laoghaire this afternoon, picked up: Coquilles st jaques, Rump steak and peppercorn sauce, New potato/Herb, Melt in the middle chocolate puddings, Kaituna Hills sauvignon blanc plus the rose. The steaks look lovely, very happy with my purchase.

Only thing that got on my tit's was the panic grabbing that was going on, it was like (as mentioned earlier) feeding time at the zoo, felt like telling a couple of old bags to F.O.

considering the other supermarkets are already doing deals like half price fillet
steak, half price sirloin steak with free mushrooms/onions this dosent sound like a great bargain. it may say on the reciept you saved 20 euro but M&S food is overpriced to start with.

thier other deal they were doing all along seems a lot better.

See I always go early on the Thursday of these offers. I got 4 lots - great food and great wine. Plus I got a couple of bottles of the really cheap pretend (elderberry?)wine which brought my wine purchases up to 6 bottles and so got the extra discount.

    Lamb - yum!

I picked up one lot of this on Thurs and went back into Jervis Street on Fri to pick up a second lot for the in-laws. It was like a frenzy in there, and some of the options that I'd seen the previosu day were gone.

It's better quality than the usual Dine-In for 2. Both times, my bottles of wine were E14.99 and my mains were E14.99 and E11.99 respectively. Starters were around the E7-8 mark.

It might seem more expensive than the usual, but the quality on offer is much better.

What a scam. That is not Dine for two, but for one! They have charged €25 for each food!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,892 ✭✭✭spank_inferno

We got a the 2 scallops as starters, 2 steaks & chips (serves 2)
& 2 melt in the middle choc puddings for deasert. & of course the Cava wine.

M&S food is relatively expensive compared to the equivelants in other supermarkets but I've always been impressed by the quality of their product.

It wont stuff 2 people but its nice to try & besides value isnt always about whats cheapest
