just out and about at the moment.

if you have a clear sky like where I am at the moment you'll have a most wonderful full moon really down low in the sky - very bright and coffee cream in colour. very big too.

might make for a nice scene even just with rooftops or if you've water near by then could be some wonderful reflections.

as for me? no camera with me. bummer.

post if you do get out.

Hah! Been saying that to all my customers!!
Out with my cam but biggest one is 24-105L, when I finish work I'll take out my new 100-400L;)
Moon is exactly as op stated, driving towards it it actually seemed to get lower fairly quickly.

I'm gonna head out in ten minutes and try to get some shots of the moon over Croke Park, the lights are on in the stadium and driving by there 20 minutes ago it looked amazing with the low moon.

I work around corner and yeah they always warm up the lights for a few hours the night before a match!

Its not the lights that are being warmed up its the opposition, its in the UEFA rules that you can use the pitch 24 hours before the game under the same lighting condition, totally OT I know, and yes the moon is great tonight!

    Jeez that's bleeding obvious :o
As for the moon at the moment it's gone much higher and it's not cream anymore,fs was really looking forward to photographing it, not bothering for the way it is now, u needed to see how good it was earlier.

If you wait until the moon is higher in the sky you will more than likely get a better and sharper photo.
The moon only looks bigger when it is close to the horizon. Its actually an optical illusion, the moon is exactly the same size on the horizon as it is when it is high in the sky. You will get a clearer photo when the moon is higher as it is passing through less atmosphere and therefore less dust particles can blur the photo, there will also be less light pollution.

Yeah on my previous moon shots I over sharpened and I'm trying to cut it down a wee bit.
    :)
I'm too lazy to set up the tripod again to head down to the carpark, more space down there, my neighbours think I'm cuckoo.

Not quite a full moon tonight and when I seen it from my balcony it had a few of those nice small misty clouds, by the time I'd set up tripod they were gone....

Yep, the crop is too tight and as you pointed out you've lost your sharpness/resolution from it.
