Hi guys just a quick one,

i need to connect a vga monitor to a dvi pc. To save hassle and cost im going to splice a spare vga cable to a dvi cable to make the bridge.

Im pretty sure they carry the same signal so a splice should work but im unsure of what wires to connect.

If anyone could guide me would be great

"to save hassle and cost im going to"

Splicing two cables figuring out which cables are the same and reconnecting 15 of the cores is more hassle than screwing in a small connector on the end of a cable.

The cost of a new graphics card or monitor after doing something wrong costs more than a small connector.

Buy the connector they're like €2 on ebay

I'd say buy an adapter would be less hasstle.

But to answer your question, like all questions I've answered in the tech section, I went to Google (it's a search engine to search for things on the internet), typed in "vga to dvi wiring", clicked search (or press enter, depending on your personal preference) and BAM!, top two results both perfectly answer the question.
