    Hi there,

I decided to leave my PC in to a repair shop for a BIOS flash, RAM change and re-format of the XP OS - The PC is dual boot - XP and Vista Ultimate. To make a long story short, the engineer re-installed XP and it seemed to be fine.

HOWEVER, when I loaded the latest XP video drivers (181.22), The system went haywire! I tried 181.20, and got this screen.
    vid.jpg

I did as I always do, removed the previous drivers through add/remove programs > reboot in safe mode > install new version > reboot. I have tried three times to install the drivers now and I'm getting worse results every time!

The SLI cards are working fine in the Ultimate OS - no problems at all - just the XP! (I've updated XP to latest version obviously!)

    My Spec:
    Intel QX6700@3.34ghz
    Tuniq tower cooled
    EVGA nForce 680i mobo
    Corsair 2 gig DDR2 XMS2 Dominator
    2x POV 8800gtx
    2x scsi320 147gig 15k rpm hdds raid0 + PCI-E SCSI RAID CARD
    320gig sata2
    Nec 5170 Dvdrw
    XFI Fatality Fps
    PC P+C 750 Silencer Quad
    24" Dell 2407WFP
    Creative 7900 7.1 system
    CM Stacker

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Run Driver Sweeper in safe mode to remove all traces of nvidia drivers, then get the latest non beta drivers from nvidia.com and try installing them,

    Thanks Nick,

As a matter of interest, went I reboot after uninstall, do I simply ignore the automatic windows "found new hardware" wizard or do I cancel the window?

Cancel the window, make sure you have fully driver sweeped the pc, then re-install the latest WHQL Nvidia driver package

Sorry to be a pleb Nick, I appreciate you taking the time to respond here, but one last query, Do I proceed as follows:

Uninstall the nVidia Diaplay drivers in Windows "Add/Remove Programs" > restart in safe mode > Run drivers sweeper (display drivers only) > reboot > install latest non-beta nvidia display drivers?

Reason I ask, I was confused whether driver sweeper takes the place of Windows "Add Remove Programs" or is used in tandem with it...

    Thanks!

Got it in one m8 :) You could in theory just use Driver Sweeper, but no harm in running Nvidia display driver uninstall, boot to safe mode, run driver sweeper, cancel any windows automatic hardware install prompts and install driver package like normal :)

    Hey Nick,

Sorry for the delay posting back...

I got it sorted, I tried what we discussed but had the same result. I opened device manager and ofund the 2nd SLI card was showing an error so I manually updated the drivers from there - BINGO!

    Thanks for the help!
