Odd Problem...

Ok, last Friday I tried starting up the Playstation and a notice came up, I thought just the new up, but anyways it wasn't. It said:
The Datebase needs to be Rebuild, Press X to Continue.
So, I contiued. And low and behold, 5 seconds later everything was gone, savedata etc...

After being pissed off at the Playstation for a day, I went to play it again going to complete GTA4....again, Lol. As I turned the playstation back on, the Database must be Rebuild error came up again... But this time, all the savedata came back!

Now, whats odd about this problem is that no error code was there, and that the savedata just dissapeared and reappeared the next day! Any ideas whats going on?

Your hard-drive is probably on its way to the grave. If you have an external HDD, connect it to PS3 and do a backup of the HDD.

Hhhmmm. This happened to me once when the "Offline for x time" update was added. I assumed it was something to do with the update.

The PS3 is okay now, but still I've never heard of it happening to anyone before this..
