I have a formal lunch coming up this weekend and am at a loss as to what to wear. Apparently it's blazer, shirt and tie and trousers or chinos for guys, but I'm not sure what would be the equivalent for a girl. I want to look smart and sexy without being over-dressed and slutty.

Hi, what about skinny jeans, blouse/shirt and a cute blazer oh and a pair of heels you can walk in!or change the jeans for a skirt and a pair of tights.. maybe a necklace or earrings(not together)and a little bracelet!

I have to agree with Sean, jeans at a formal lunch is a bad idea.

    How about something like this?:

EDIT: I can't get the link to work. Go to the second page, the blue dress in the middle.

High waisted pencil skirt, preferably that comes to aprox the middle of your knee, match your heals to the colour of the skirt, eg black and black, grey skirtt and grey heels etc. A nice plain shirt on top, and perhaps a small necklase and ear ring, nothing to bling bling. And perhaps a blazer for walking in, you can obv take this off when you are seated and you will still look formal and classy! Good luck! :D
