Was out there with my EX (Two weeks after sept 11th ) had a ball, just booked our flight and two nights hotel and took it from there when we arrived, local busses, trains and a weeks organised tour which we got out there. Saw lots including Aswan, Luxor, Nial cruise on faluka, Dahab etc gives you more flexibility than if you are to take a package tour. July is going to be blo**dy hot in Egypt.

Don't go to Egypt in July. It's too hot.

Anyway, we went with Falcon holiday to Sharm el Sheikh, then went on a day trip to Petra with Longwood Holidays. I think it goes every Friday.
We also booked a 2 day trip to Cairo (pyramids) and Luxor (Valley of the Kings, etc) through Longwoods.
